Teletherapy (counseling through electronic means) has been found to be as effective as typical, face-to-face counseling. Video, telephone, email or live chat can allow clients to meet with a therapist from their home or other private location. This can reduce travel time and improve access for clients living in remote areas. It can also be convenient when logistics such as child care, transportation or scheduling make visiting an office more difficult.

My teletherapy sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPPA and HITECH compliant platform in order to protect the privacy of client information. Payment is also made through the secure platform. Clients simply need to have an adequate internet connection, computer, webcam or phone and assure that they are in an area that is private and free from distractions.*

In addition to being licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I have been trained and certified to perform technology assisted services in accordance with state requirements.

*Teletherapy is effective, but may not be appropriate for all client populations such as domestic violence, suicidal ideations, or other issues where safety concerns are paramount. Individuals that have difficulty using technology such as computers and webcams may not be appropriate for teletherapy.
